Beautiful Monarch Butterfly

Allerton Gardens, Koloa, Kauai, Hawaii – 2012 – Canon 20D

After going on a tour of the Allerton Garden with my Step-Mother, Sonja, we walked through some beautiful flowers covered with butterflies.  Butterflies are so hard to take photos of because they rarely stop moving!  I was so pleased to get this photo!

Mormon Row, Wyoming

We had a wonderful time in Jackson Hole, Wyoming with our dear friends Pam & Milt Taylor, THANKS for the invitation to go!  They took us to a place called Mormon Row, not far from Jackson Hole, an area that was settled by Mormon Settlers. While driving thru the area we saw this herd of Buffalo coming towards us and so we whipped out our cameras. I love this shot with a Buffalo looking at me and a baby Buffalo behind it.

Clouds and Palms

Phuket, Thailand

We visited Thailand in 2012.  We had been in Phuket for a number of days and I had tried to get a sunset photo, but to no avail.  Finally, while swimming with my grandkids I saw a sunset and took this photo with my underwater camera.  Not bad considering!

Lightning Over The Valley

August seems to be the month when we can get some awesome lightning storms.  Well, 2011 didn’t disappoint!  I took tons of photos, that’s the only way to get the lightning, THANK GOODNESS for digital!

Grizzly Bear

When we were in Alaska in 2011, we took a tour thru Denali National Park.  We saw some wonderful wildlife.  This Grizzly Bear didn’t even notice us as it was searching for Soapberries.

I love with photo of a baby Buffalo, a calf, nursing.  Chelsea and I had a wonderful time watching nature throughout Yellowstone Park!

Jamie, (my daughter) and I planned a fun trip to go and see her husbands grandparents in Idaho.  The night before some of her children were ill, so I had to decide do I still go with Chelsea or cancel the trip.  I decided to go for it.  Chelsea and I ended up having a wonderful trip to Idaho and then to Wyoming where we drove thru Yellowstone Park.  While driving thru we saw a lot of Buffalo.  Cars were stopped all over and people were outside their cars trying to get the perfect shot!

Cruising on the Yangtze River

China

On a trip to China in 2008, we took a cruise up the Yangtze River.  Some of the highlights were; going up the locks to the top of the dam, after a good nights sleep, watching the sunrise on the river and meeting the wonderful Chinese people!  It was an awesome adventure!

Swan

My friend, Pam, and I had seen swans floating on a pond for sometime. So, we decided to go and take photos of them. This one keep swimming past me and it seemed to be asking me to take a photo of it. So, I did! Love it!

Lazy Panda Bear

When we go to Washington D. C. we enjoying going to the Smithsonian Institute.  They have the largest museums in the world.  In 2008 we went to the Smithsonian Zoological Park where we saw this lazy Panda Bear.

American Kestrel
