A Full Rainbow

Kauai, Hawaii – 2011 – Canon G9

One day we decided to go for a ride, I was with my dad and step-mother, so we drove to Lihue via the country back roads.   Upon returning to Poipu I could see cars all over as we came down a slight hill.  We were surrounded by trees so I couldn’t see what was happening but then, we came out of the trees and to my delight there was a full rainbow.  We pulled over and I put my wide angel lens on my camera and I took this beautiful photo and just in time because it started raining!

Monkey With My Glasses

Monkey Temple, Bali,Indonesia – 2008 – Canon 20D

We had a fun time at the Monkey Temple, named because there are Monkeys everywhere.  We were warned that the monkeys  grab things, so to be careful!  Twice my glasses where taken right off my face by monkeys.  The second one grabbed them and took off down a cliff, then he just sat there looking at us with my glasses in his mouth!  What a stinker!  We paid a man to get my glasses, which he did by going over the barricade and enticing the monkey with apples and oranges, which worked.  At first the monkey took an apple and kept my glasses in his mouth, then when offered more fruit he took it with his other hand.  For the third piece he had to let go of my glasses.  The man was quick and grabbed my glasses before they fell down to the ocean below!  I had to wear my glasses the rest of the trip, but they were never the same with bite marks all over them!

We were crossing the Golden Gate Bridge as the sun was setting and I saw some bicyclists ahead of us, so I start shooting, I got this photo which I have always loved!

Hooded Crow

We had a nice walk thru the park and we saw a lot of other people doing the same thing! There are a lot of Hooded Crows throughout Scandinavia and Europe. They are black and grey and I think they are pretty birds!

Poipu, Kauai, Hawaii – 2015 – iPhone

After a walk along the beach, I sat down to RELAX and watch the surfers as they glided across the waves.  All of a sudden I heard ‘cock-a-doodle-doo’, I looked behind me to see this beautiful Rooster.  I quickly turned around to get a photo of him with my feet, as he walked away!

With a Monk Seal

The first week we were in Kauai it rained a lot and I didn’t see any Monk Seals and then they came.  Everyday on the beach there were one or two and sometimes three.  It was so fun to watch them and at times, they watched us.  I thought it would be fun to RELAX with one.  This, of course, was as close as I could get to it, because they are endangered, but we did RELAXED together!
