We had a spectacular view of Diamond Head & Honolulu as we flew to the Big Island; Hawaii! It’s much easier to say good-bye when you are headed to another island!! ☺️

Haleiwa is a great place to put your feet up and RELAX! It’s quaint and very laid back! There you can get the best Shaved Ice, Surf, Paddle Board and see Hawaiian Green Turtles on the beach!

Matsumoto Shaved Ice

You can’t go to Hawaii without having a shaved ice at Matsumoto’s, the best around! DELISH!  THANKS to my granddaughter for helping me with this photo, as well as the others in the background!

Dole

As I was sitting and taking photos of my feet, a man walked by, he was making a video and speaking, I heard him say, ‘and this lady is taking photos of her feet, COOL, I am going to have to do that!’ How inspiring I can be! ☺️ And, in the perfect place, I put my feet up and RELAXED at Dole Plantation!

Dole Plantation

We always enjoy visiting Dole Plantation, this time we took the train ride and went thru the maze. We had so much fun! This photo was the view from the train and in the maze we divided up into 3 teams. We would have won except we missed one of the stations and had to go back and find it! The kids loved it! We of course, topped it off with a Pineapple Float, well, we started with it, to give us energy!

I Never Tire

I never tire of taking photos of Hawaiian Green Turtles.  This one was fun to take photos of, at one point he went right under me, I could feel his shell against my stomach.

Coming Up For Air

This Hawaiian Green Turtle  was fun to photograph.  Here he came up for air, because sea turtles are mammals, they breath air like humans do, so they have to come up from time to time to get air.  Having said that, they can stay under the water for a lot longer than we can!

I ❤️ snorkeling, particularly when there are turtles! There is a lagoon we go to and there has always been at least one turtle there, this time there were three. They are such amazing creatures, strong yet so gentle.

There is a lagoon in Ko Olina and every time I go snorkeling there, we find turtles.  They are so fun to swim with and they are friendly and gentle!

Polynesian Cultural Center

Whenever we go to Oahu we always go to the PCC (Polynesian Cultural Center) if nothing else to support them for the great work they do! They not only share their cultures with us, they give scholarships to the students at Brigham Young University Hawaii, allowing them to work at the PCC and earn money for their education. What a great thing! Now, I haven’t even mentioned the shows, the delicious food and of course, the fantastic night show! We had a grand time!

Samoa

Samoa is one of my favorite villages to visit at the Polynesian Cultural Center, though I have a lot of favorites! It’s fun and entertaining and the perfect place to put my feet up and RELAX!!

New Zealand

Of course, my favorite village to visit at the Polynesian Cultural Center is New Zealand, my home land! We had a fun time watching their program, practicing the POIS, getting ‘tattoos’ and I found the perfect spot to RELAX!

Giovanni’s Shrimp Truck

Another thing you have to do when on the island of Oahu, is go to Giovanni’s for the best shrimp ever! YUMMY!! After a delicious lunch, I found a great place to put my feet up and RELAX!

Calm & Peaceful

After finding ‘My Beach’ or ‘Secret Beach’ as it is known by locals, I had to sit and RELAX by these rocks covered with algae. Notice how calm the water is here, unlike ‘My Lagoon’. Here, it is so calm & peaceful!

Secret Beach

The other day I was at ‘My Lagoon’ relaxing as I read a book. I noticed some people had followed me to ‘My Lagoon’, they stayed around for a while and then they left, but they didn’t leave the way they came. They climbed up some rocks, about 15′ high and then walked across the top of them, turned a corner and disappeared. Some time ago, I had seen some other people do this, so I decided that this time I would follow them. Up I went and carefully I walked across the rocks and as I turned the corner I was surprised at what I saw, a secret beach, (which I have since found out the locals call it) that is beautiful! Yesterday, I took my family there and for most of the time, we were the only people on this beach, it is now known to us as ‘Nonni’s Beach’. Oh, by the way the snorkeling is great!

Sea Life Park – Birds

There is an area at Sea Life Park where there are all types of birds, they are gorgeous with their bright colors! You can go in and feed them, take photos of them or just RELAX with them! I chose the latter and slowly sat on this bench, put my feet up and RELAXED! I got a bit nervous as a bunch of them took off because someone was coming towards us!

Sea Life Park

Sea Life Park was the perfect place to go. Their setting, close to the ocean was a perfect back drop for photos. It wasn’t too big so we were able to get to a number of their shows. My favorite was the Dolphins! I ❤️ DOLPHINS! There is something about their gentleness and grace that is so fun and cute!

Hawaiian Mountains

I ❤️ Hawaiian Mountains even with fog sitting on the top. Their crevices sometimes have waterfalls going down them, and they are always beautiful with their lush green!

Stairway To Heaven

On our way to Sea Life we went thru the mountains and saw some beautiful scenery!  I knew we were going to be able to see The Haiku Stairs or Stairway to Heaven, so I had my camera ready and I got a couple great shots!  These stairs are a steep hiking trail with 3,922 steps, but because of damage on the stairs, they are dangerous to use and someone can receive a fine if they do so!
