Promontory Point, Utah

On May 10, 1869 the Union Pacific Railroad and the Central Pacific Railroad came together at Promontory Point in what was the Utah Territory and changed the future of our nation. In this photo the Union Pacific’s locomotive No. 119 is coming towards the Central Pacific’s locomotive Juniper, re-enacting the completion of the first Transcontinental Railroad.

River Boats transport things back and forth all day long.  Christine and I watched as this boat passed us and another one came up the river, the Rhine is a very busy river!

As Christine and I were out on our walk, along the River Rhein, I saw someone get off their bike and walk towards the river, so I took the opportunity to get a photo of the bike.  It blends into the trees, bushes and scenery.

Not European Championships

IMG_7031
Bonn, Germany

As we walked around Bonn I saw a football, (American Soccer) game going on, on the grounds of the University of Bonn. It wasn’t the European Championships that are going on right now, but it was the perfect place for me to put my feet up and RELAX, bike and all!!

Tower Bridge

IMG_4938

London, England

Tower Bridge is a symbolic icon of London and opened in 1894. The other day with Roby Parisi & Nauvoo Rossato, we walked across it on a much cooler and very cloudy day. So, this day, with no clouds and sunshine, we went for a boat ride along the River Thames and we went under Tower Bridge. The sights of London from the River Thames were awesome! By-the-way, the building on the right that looks like it is tipping, it is, that’s how it was built.

London Eye

IMG_4663

London, England

The London Eye sits on the River Thames and was completed in 2000. It is a giant Ferris wheel that stands 443 feet, when completed it was the world’s tallest Ferris Wheel but was surpassed in 2008 by the Singapore Flier (541′) and in 2014 by the High Roller in Las Vegas (550′).  I don’t like Ferris Wheels, so I haven’t been on the London Eye, but Craig and Chelsea have been on it and on the Singapore Flier.

Warwick Castle

IMG_4357
Warwick, England

We had a fun day at Warwick Castle! It is a medieval castle built originally by William the Conqueror in 1068 and has changed a lot thru the years due to wars and fires. It sits on the River Avon and has activities for young and old. This day I went into my first ‘Castle Dungeon’. As we went in there was a sign that said, ‘intended to scare’! I have never gone into those types of things before, but I did and I SURVIVED! Chelsea was braver than I!

Home of William Shakespeare

IMG_4057

Stratford Upon Avon, England

The River Avon majestically flows through Stratford Upon Avon which is a beautiful, quaint village where William Shakespeare was born, raised and died (1564-1616). He is remembered throughout the city. He was buried in Holy Trinity Church, whose spire you can see in the distance of this photo.

Bath, England

We took a cruise on the River Avon and we went under the Pulteney Bridge. At the end of our hour journey I asked the captain if I could put my feet up and take a photo. I showed him a previous photo with my feet. He laughed and said, ‘wish you were here’, as a question. I laughed and said, ‘yes, with an added RELAXING on the River Avon’. He was so excited, really cute and so I got this photo!

Lots of Pigeons

IMG_1439
Kingston Upon Thames, England

There are a ton of pigeons in England and they are fearless, so you have to watch out for them. Right after taking this photo one whizzed by my face! I thought of my friend Vicki Tuua, when I saw this sign! Is your deck any better?

While eating lunch with my friend Ilaria Silli, I noticed people crossing the bridge and looking down, see the lady on the bridge, looking down, what do you think she’s looking at? Tomorrow I’ll show you, here’s a hint; there is one in this photo! Any guesses?

Tandem A Roma

I’ve always had this thing for taking photos of bikes. So, when I see either a cool bike or a bike with cool surroundings, I have to snap a photo! This one, in Rome, was no different!

Ponte Delle Catene

Bagni di Lucca, Italy

We went to the city that Paola is from, Bagni di Lucca, a very quaint, pretty village nestled in the mountains.  I walked across the Bridge of Chains (Ponte Delle Catene) and there was a chair waiting there for me to RELAX on.  I sat down and waited, soon enough a bike came along, there is nothing like a bike, a bridge and relaxing all together!  😊

Our dear friend Sister Pratt and her companion, Sister Davenport, took us on a tour of Zagreb, Croatia. Even though it was a wet, rainy day, they were troopers and off we went! I couldn’t resist this photo of a bike with some of our tour guides!

Cruising The Canal

CruisingCanalBerlin, Germany – 2016 – iPhone

We took a tour so we could see where we wanted to visit.  While crossing a bridge I saw this canal and a boat coming.  Luckily, the traffic was stopped long enough for me to get this photo!  After our tour there were so many places we wanted to visit that we ended up walking 8 miles and saw about everything!
