Two Hawks #BRHA5c-0225

While exercising in February of 2025, I saw two Hawks outside looking for food. It had snowed the night before so there is snow on the tree branches and blooms.

While on a tour of China in 2008, we went to the Chongqing Zoo. It was amazing! I loved watching this tiger as it paced back and forth.

Kakī or Black Stilt #NZR2d-1207

While on a trip to New Zealand in December of 2007, we went to Rotorua, where there is a lot of geothermal activity. There amongst the sulfur smell, boiling mud and steam were these Kakī or Black Stilts, who are a native wading bird only found in New Zealand. It is regarded by Māori as a taonga species – a living treasure.

In January 2008 we took my dad to Waiourua Military Camp where he had served as a youngman of 18. He was so happy as we drove thru the streets, he enjoyed remembering those days.

Southern Hemisphere #HEST1b-0108

I took this photo using a tripod and I did a 20 minute exposure, as I looked at the Southern Cross. I love the effect it gave! I took this on my cousin’s Dairy Farm, looking at Mount Egmont (Mount Taranaki) in January of 2008.

Carousels can be so fun to watch as they go up and down. I love the ones that are colorful! We had a fun time at Busch Gardens in May of 2008.
