I went with my photo buddy, Pam, to capture the beautiful flowers in our friend, Mary’s, gorgeous garden. There were so many things to take photos of! Then, I sat and RELAXED amongst the poppies.

When I was a child, from the age of 3 – 6, I lived just to the left and down the hill from this beautiful Temple. Though I was young when we left New Zealand, looking at this photo brings back wonderful memories and joyous feelings of my childhood. The Hamilton Temple was dedicated on April 20, 1958 and I was there. This beautiful edifice is a Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Simon was our falconer and he showed us a number of his birds. It was amazing! I loved this Barn Owl who was so aware of everything around us, but very gentle. We were able to touch it’s very, very soft feathers. I love the white feathers with the contrast of it’s very dark eyes.

The Seven Sisters are a series of 7 chalk cliffs that site along the coast of the English Channel. They are along the same series of cliffs as the Cliffs of Dover, which are about 2 hours away. We spent many hours here, walking along the waters edge, collecting shells and looking for fossils. It was very cold and windy above, but once we descended the stairway to the beach, we were protected from the cold wind and it was very pleasant.

I have been to Hampton Court before, I love it’s gardens, but this winter day it was too cold to wander the gardens. So, this time I went inside and it was very interesting! Hampton Court is picturesque as it sits along the River Thames and it’s construction began in 1515 for Cardinal Thomas Wolsey, one of King Henry VIII’s favorites. In 1529 when Wolsey fell from favor, King Henry VIII seized the palace for himself and later enlarged it.

We spent a wonderful day with a Falconer, looking at his birds and watching what they do. Did you know that birds do not poop in their nests? They find a tree and that becomes their poop tree and you know this because it is covered in white. I thought that was amazing. Each bird is unique and awesome to watch. Here the Red-tailed Hawk is flying, I love taking photos of birds as they fly!
