Duke’s Waikiki

Honolulu, Oahu, Hawaii

While we were waiting for our table I decided to put my feet up and RELAX! Yes, there is sand on my flipflops & feet, because we walked from Duke Kahanamoku’s statue to Duke’s Waikiki along the beach. There were lots of people on the beach and many were grabbing their towels and personal items as the waves came up, it was so fun!

I ❤️ the beach!!

Duke Kahanamoku

Honolulu, Oahu, Hawaii

A Pacini tradition is to go to Duke’s for a Hula Pie when we are on the island of Oahu and this trip is no different! ☺️ We arrived early so we decided to walk a short distance to Waikiki where a statue of Duke Kahanamoku is. Duke’s restaurant is named after him. Duke was a great swimmer and won 5 medals in the Olympic Games. He is credited at making the Hawaiian sport of surfing, popular. Duke was born in 1890 in the Kingdom of Hawaii and died in 1968 in Hawaii which was then a state in the USA.

Amongst The Petals

Ko Olina, Oahu, Hawaii

As I went for my morning walk I noticed a bunch of flower petals on the ground. There wasn’t a tree nearby with these flowers on it, so I suspect there had been a wedding here, recently! What a perfect place to sit and RELAX!

Ko Olina Lagoons, Hawaii

I sat down and put my feet up & RELAXED as a Common Myna Bird strutted by. You see Myna Birds all over Hawaii, they are pretty, but aggressive and bossy with other birds!

There is so much to look at and see as I walk along the ocean, this time, it’s the beautiful trees!

When we flew to Kauai last year I was looking out the window and I saw the lagoons of Ko Olina. We are here, now, celebrating our 40th wedding anniversary and some of our family will be joining us over the next week or so!

Dinner or Breakfast?

IMG_7678Ogden, Utah

We went to our daughter, Jamie’s home for dinner and we had breakfast for dinner, I don’t know that I have ever done that before.  Her husband, Benji, is a great cook, so he made scrambled eggs, hash browns & Hootenanny Annie Pancakes.  I brought the fruit, so it was perfect on the pancakes!  And it was all topped off with a Mango Smoothie!  It really was good, delish!

Greenland or Iceland?

Iceland

I heard, sometime ago, that Iceland and Greenland’s names were suppose to be the opposite, some how they got mixed up! Well, I believe that is true, what do you think?  This is Iceland.

Airlines Food

Flying over Canada

I have heard people complain about airlines food, well I love it, because I request vegan or vegetarian meals and they are delicious!  Here I got some greens with with asparagus & tomatoes on a bed of quinoa & veggies, with a yummy roll and some crackers.  I would recommend them the next time you fly!

Blueberry Bavaroise

Gothenburg, Sweden

At the Restaurant Fiskekrogen we had three desserts and this one was interesting with blueberries, walnuts, white chocolate and lavender ice cream.  The lavender ice cream has an interesting flavor, it was good, but kinda girly, that’s the best way I can describe it.

Crème Brûlée

A Restaurant Fiskekrogen, we also had Crème Brûlée (absolutely delicious) with Walnut Sorbet and it was yummy, too!

Rhubarb Tart

Our last night on our trip we decided to go to a nice restaurant in Gothenburg and to splurge and get dessert.  So, we went to Restaurant Fiskekrogen, it was really good, though a bit expensive.  AND, we did get dessert, but not one to share, we got three and shared them.  They are all delish!!  The cream in the tart was wonderful, yes, a nice, yummy dessert!

Back To Rain

Gothenburg, Sweden

When we arrived in Gothenburg 2 1/2 months ago, it was cold and rainy, now it is still rainy, though not quite as cold! So, once again I put my feet up and RELAXED! Having said all that, the next day it was sunny and warm and the figure on the horse, yes the statue, had a scarf on!
