Bristol Cathedral

Bristol, England

We spent the day in Bath and then returned to Bristol where we were staying. We had walked over to the Bristol Cathedral (The Cathedral Church of the Holy and Undivided Trinity) in the morning but there were people everywhere. Later, we walked past it on our way to dinner and the grass was covered with trash left by those who had been there in the morning. Now, after dinner, as we walked to our hotel in a heavy rain, the lights were just coming on, the grass was cleaned and the rain refreshed everything.

When we got to the end of this part of the River Avon we had to turn around.  Here there is the beautiful Bathampton Bridge and more waterfalls.  The cruise was wonderful and peaceful!

Roman Baths

Bath, England

Bath got it’s name from the Roman Baths in the city which were built in 60 AD. It was raining when we arrived, so I RELAXED while visitors sought protection under their umbrellas!

River Avon

We took a cruise on the River Avon and we went under the Pulteney Bridge. At the end of our hour journey I asked the captain if I could put my feet up and take a photo. I showed him a previous photo with my feet. He laughed and said, ‘wish you were here’, as a question. I laughed and said, ‘yes, with an added RELAXING on the River Avon’. He was so excited, really cute and so I got this photo!

Swan with her Cygnets

We took a cruise on the River Avon and the highlight was seeing this mother Swan cross the river with her five babies (cygnets). She was constantly watching for danger as was the male who was just a little behind them.

The Pulteney Bridge was completed in 1774 and crosses the River Avon, here in Bath. It is England’s Ponte Vecchio, except there are stores on both sides. It is a fun area to walk around!
