{"id":4364,"date":"2017-12-07T11:02:07","date_gmt":"2017-12-07T18:02:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thrumyeyes.com\/?p=4364"},"modified":"2017-12-07T11:02:07","modified_gmt":"2017-12-07T18:02:07","slug":"hanapepe-swinging-bridge","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thrumyeyes.com\/index.php\/2017\/12\/07\/hanapepe-swinging-bridge\/","title":{"rendered":"Hanapepe Swinging Bridge"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-4365\" src=\"https:\/\/thrumyeyes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/IMG_0735a-e1512669651232.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"960\" height=\"721\" \/>Hanapepe, Kauai, Hawai&#8217;i<\/p>\n<p>When we were on Kauai last year, my sister and her husband found this awesome, quaint swinging bridge in Hanapepe. \u00a0It is a foot bridge that crosses over the Hanapepe River and links the old town of Hanapepe to the Hanapepe Valley. \u00a0It was originally built in the 1900\u2019s as the only way for locals to cross the river. \u00a0In 1992, it was badly damaged by Hurricane Iniki and has since been restored and reinforced.
