{"id":3718,"date":"2017-06-03T14:39:06","date_gmt":"2017-06-03T20:39:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thrumyeyes.com\/?p=3718"},"modified":"2017-08-09T13:00:52","modified_gmt":"2017-08-09T19:00:52","slug":"newspaper-rock","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thrumyeyes.com\/index.php\/2017\/06\/03\/newspaper-rock\/","title":{"rendered":"Newspaper Rock"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-3719\" src=\"https:\/\/thrumyeyes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/IMG_1335a-e1498250239972.jpg\" alt=\"IMG_1335a\" width=\"960\" height=\"720\" \/>Painted Desert, Arizona<\/p>\n<p>We went to the area called Newspaper Rock where there are over 650 petroglyphs. \u00a0Because the sun was going down and there were lots of shadows, they are hard to see. \u00a0Also, to protect them, you cannot get very close. \u00a0I had to really lighten this photo so you can see some down in the bottom right corner of the large rock. \u00a0I have always enjoyed looking at petroglyphs, wondering what the person was like who made them. \u00a0These were created by ancestral Puebloan people living, farming, and hunting along the Puerco River between 650 and 2,000 years ago.
