Wild Goat

Waimea, Canyon

We could see some Wild Goats in the distance and while I was taking photos of the canyon they came closer until they were right by us, just on the other side of a chain linked fence.  It was fun to watch them as they played, ate and looked at the beautiful view.

Cattle Egert

As we walked along I saw a couple Cattle Egert’s, which you see all over Kauai.  This one waited for me to take it’s photo, so I did, then it flew away.  I think they are beautiful birds, they have an elegance about them!

Rooster

It was a beautiful morning, as I RELAXED on our Lanai, just as a rooster past by.

After taking a Boston Duck Tour around Boston and on Boston Harbor in 2016, we walked along the waters edge and saw some fun things, this Seagull for example.

Even the horses remind us of where we are, REMEMBERING 1776, a year that changed the world!

Sea Life Park – Birds

IMG_1435Waimanalo, Oahu, Hawaii

There is an area at Sea Life Park where there are all types of birds, they are gorgeous with their bright colors! You can go in and feed them, take photos of them or just RELAX with them! I chose the latter and slowly sat on this bench, put my feet up and RELAXED! I got a bit nervous as a bunch of them took off because someone was coming towards us!

I sat down and put my feet up & RELAXED as a Common Myna Bird strutted by. You see Myna Birds all over Hawaii, they are pretty, but aggressive and bossy with other birds!

Ducklings Following Mama

IMG_7103

Niederkassel, Germany

As, my friend, Christine and I walked thru the forest and along the Rhein, we saw this mother duck with her ducklings right behind her. No matter where she went or what she did, they stayed in this straight line! Notice the Crane behind them watching for dinner.

Adorable Cygnets

After arriving at our friend Christine’s house, we went for a walk along the River Rhine.  It was so lovely and peaceful.  There were Ducks and Swans which we fed.  One of the mother’s and her two babies, Cygnets, stayed back, but finally came over for food.  These little Cygnets were adorable!

Bridge to the Peninsula

Niederkassel, Germany

Here is the walking bridge that takes you over to the peninsula where we walked thru the forest to the River Rhine.  Though this water is apart of the Rhine, the big part of the river, that has river boats on it, is on the other side.  We passed beautiful flowers, swans, other people & had a wonderful time walking thru the forest and along the Rhine!

Home of William Shakespeare

Stratford Upon Avon, England

The River Avon majestically flows through Stratford Upon Avon which is a beautiful, quaint village where William Shakespeare was born, raised and died (1564-1616). He is remembered throughout the city. He was buried in Holy Trinity Church, whose spire you can see in the distance of this photo.

Arched Beauty

IMG_3347 Saint George’s, Cardiff, Wales

Our GPS did something interesting and something we really liked, it took us out into the country.  The streets were tiny, luckily there weren’t to many other cars on the roads.  There were high hedges, so we couldn’t see a lot, but once in a while things would open up and we’d see some beautiful vistas.  This is one of those, we had to stop so I could take this photo of this arch with two horses passing by.

Swan with her Cygnets

IMG_3103Bath, England

We took a cruise on the River Avon and the highlight was seeing this mother Swan cross the river with her five babies (cygnets). She was constantly watching for danger as was the male who was just a little behind them.

Swan on the River Thames

I had lunch with a dear friend from Italy, Ilaria Silli! After lunch we walked along the River Thames, the swans were beautiful!

Nesting Swan

IMG_1418Kingston Upon Thames, England

While Chelsea McKenzie Pacini and I were having lunch with Ilaria Silli, (a great friend from Italy) I noticed people walking across a bridge and then they would stop and look down. So, after lunch we walked over there to see what they were looking at and this is it, a Swan sitting on her nest! I am assuming this is a female because generally the female sits on her nest for up to 6 weeks, the male however, can if necessary. I love swans, they are beautiful and so graceful in the water. Also, they mate for life which I think is really cool! They are beautiful!  CONGRATULATIONS go to Donald Donald E. Russell & Raewyn Lyes Viljoen for guessing correctly, at least the Swan, the nest is an added bonus!  Donald & Raewyn, send me your mailing address in a private message (Facebook) and I will send you your gift for guessing correctly!!

Monkey With My Glasses

MonkeyGlasses

Monkey Temple, Bali,Indonesia – 2008 – Canon 20D

We had a fun time at the Monkey Temple, named because there are Monkeys everywhere.  We were warned that the monkeys  grab things, so to be careful!  Twice my glasses where taken right off my face by monkeys.  The second one grabbed them and took off down a cliff, then he just sat there looking at us with my glasses in his mouth!  What a stinker!  We paid a man to get my glasses, which he did by going over the barricade and enticing the monkey with apples and oranges, which worked.  At first the monkey took an apple and kept my glasses in his mouth, then when offered more fruit he took it with his other hand.  For the third piece he had to let go of my glasses.  The man was quick and grabbed my glasses before they fell down to the ocean below!  I had to wear my glasses the rest of the trip, but they were never the same with bite marks all over them!

Hooded Crow

Gothenburg, Sweden

We had a nice walk thru the park and we saw a lot of other people doing the same thing! There are a lot of Hooded Crows throughout Scandinavia and Europe. They are black and grey and I think they are pretty birds!
