Canopy of Trees

Koloa, Kauai, Hawai’i

I love this tree tunnel near Poipu, on the island on Kauai. On our way to and from Poipu we drive thru this Tree Tunnel. Some days it is raining, other days you can see the blue sky thru the trees. It is a fun place and I love taking photos when there is little traffic. This Tree Tunnel has rows of Eucalyptus Trees that were planted about 150 years ago by sugar king Walter McBryde. LOVE IT!

When we were in Italy in 2005 we met up with our friends, Remo & Arianna at a delicious restaurant. As I got out of the car I could see the sun was setting, so I ran across the street to get this photo. LOVE it!

Chelsea came with my friend Pam and I and we went on an airboat.  It was fun and exciting to see so many alligators.  There was the worry that the airboat would break down, HA! HA!  I love the name of this place!

Chimneys

East Molesey, England

On the top of Hampton Court Palace there are lots of chimneys.  Back in 1515 each room had to have a fireplace to keep the occupants warm, thus tons of chimneys.  I love the design of these chimneys!

Flying Across America

Columbia Heights, Minnesota

Looking out my window the scenery is much different from when we left England. The beautiful shades of green have been replaced by snow and ice. Even so, it has it’s own unique beauty!

I love how we can know where we are, when taking photos with our iPhones and their GPS.  Here we are flying over Winkfield, isn’t that a fun name!  From 30,000 feet you can see beautiful green England below!

Barn Owl

Hook, England

Simon was our falconer and he showed us a number of his birds.  It was amazing!  I loved this Barn Owl who was so aware of everything around us, but very gentle.  We were able to touch it’s very, very soft feathers.  I love the white feathers with the contrast of it’s very dark eyes.

Red Telephone Box and Post Box

Seaford, England

One sees Telephone Boxes (although they are not used anymore) & Post Boxes all over England. After spending some time down on the beach at Seven Sisters, we came up the stairs to find them together.  They are so fun and quaint!

Seven Sisters

Seaford, England

The Seven Sisters are a series of 7 chalk cliffs that site along the coast of the English Channel. They are along the same series of cliffs as the Cliffs of Dover, which are about 2 hours away.  We spent many hours here, walking along the waters edge, collecting shells and looking for fossils.  It was very cold and windy above, but once we descended the stairway to the beach, we were protected from the cold wind and it was very pleasant.

Hampton Court

East Molesey, England

I have been to Hampton Court before, I love it’s gardens, but this winter day it was too cold to wander the gardens.  So, this time I went inside and it was very interesting!  Hampton Court is picturesque as it sits along the River Thames and it’s construction began in 1515 for Cardinal Thomas Wolsey, one of King Henry VIII’s favorites.  In 1529 when Wolsey fell from favor, King Henry VIII seized the palace for himself and later enlarged it.

Red-Tailed Hawk

Hook, England

We spent a wonderful day with a Falconer, looking at his birds and watching what they do.  Did you know that birds do not poop in their nests?  They find a tree and that becomes their poop tree and you know this because it is covered in white.  I thought that was amazing.  Each bird is unique and awesome to watch.  Here the Red-tailed Hawk is flying, I love taking photos of birds as they fly!
