The Beautiful Tabernacle

Tabernacle

The TABERNACLE was built between 1864 and 1867.  It has a seating capacity of 8,000.  It was built as a gathering place for the Saints.  It is a beautiful, inspiring building!  It’s acoustics are amazing! Notice the marble column on the right of this photo, it is actually a wooden column that was painted to look like marble.

It was a wonderful day, touring Temple Square with my cousin, Raewyn and her husband, Mike, who were visiting from New Zealand!  The TABERNACLE was awe inspiring as we thought of the early Mormon saints who built it!  It’s acoustics are awesome!

My friend, Liz Freeman, asked me to come to her home and take photographs of the Salt Lake Temple from her balcony.  She wanted a photo of the Salt Lake Temple before the building behind it, a condo, sold out and had it’s lights come on.  You can see it behind the Temple, the dark patch.

My brother-in-law is a pyrotechnical.  It is so fun to go to his children’s wedding receptions, because there are Fire Engine’s there, waiting for the fireworks at the end.  He does a great job!  I took these photos (combined into this one) of some of his fireworks in 2010 of our Independence Day Celebration (July 4th).  I LOVE FIREWORKS!

This photograph was taken from the Joseph Smith Memorial Building.  I turned it black and white and then put the green back in it.  It gave it a cool effect.
